Description: North American species. Thornless, upright black currant. Clusters of cream-white to yellow blooms in mid-to-late spring mature to black fruit in mid-to-late summer. Excellent for preserves. Self-pollinating; better yields when planted near Josta or gooseberries.

Height: 1.25 - 1.5m (4 - 5 FT.)

Spread: 90 - 125cm (36 - 48 IN.)

Planting Instructions:

  • dig hole twice the size of the pot
  • put in 1/2 cup to 1 cup bone meal mixed in with dirt
  • place tree into hole, fill in with dirt (ensure the graft site remains above the soil)
  • fertilize once a year in spring
  • All sales are final, no exceptions. Whether a tree lives or dies depends largely on the care that is given.
